Quality Management System

Quality Management System

The Quality Management System (QMS) directs and ensures the quality of the NLC's services and organization. The QMS will be built in compliance with ISO 9001 and will apply to all operations of the ESS NLC, including training, research, and consultation.

Management will design Standard Operating Procedures to apply the Quality Management System. Procedures include the following:

  1. The Advisory Board will decide on a set of high-level annual targets. These will be recorded, along with targets and performance indicators. Progress toward those targets will be assessed annually, and targets will be changed for the next year if necessary. During the annual meeting, the plan will be evaluated against the objectives, and any modifications will be reported.
  2. A rigorous quality assurance procedure will be used for both existing course offerings and the development of new courses (covering materials, methods and trainers). Established courses will be reviewed for continuous accuracy, relevance, and best practices in adult learning; potential modifications to changes in standards or regulations (both international
and national); and the incorporation of new learning technology. The SOP will explain the method for annual review and modification implementation, with approval from the Supervisory Board. For new courses, the Supervisory Board will undertake preliminary assessments of the proposed syllabus, as well as reviews of draft course materials by expert consultants (both Indonesian and foreign), and pilot testing.
  3. Students/training participants complete detailed training assessment surveys at the end of each training course. These give input on all areas of the training, from the technical skill and manner of the trainers to the facility, food, and so on. After each training, management will review the forms, evaluate them, and offer suggestions for enhancing the next training course. It will be the role of the lead resource person to undertake such modifications by the NLC deadline.
  4. The Supervisory Board will select trainers, lecturers, and guest speakers after thoroughly evaluating their experience and credentials. The assessment method will offer them with feedback at the end of the course. Management will seek for chances to upskill/build the trainers' competencies through webinars, training of trainers, exchanges, and mentorship as needed and when possible.
